Q) Can I download SoftPage and install it on my own server?
A) No, its free, there is no need to.
Q) No really... I have an entire web server dedicated to hosting my web site, why cant I just install it like other CMS systems?
A) SoftPage is brought to you via an array of countless web servers and database servers with endless technology and support personnel dedicated to providing you with a stable reliable solution.
Q) Why is SoftPage free, are you not telling me something?
A) Its not all free, the system, SoftPage, the email and hosting is - almost everything else is not free. We feel that to charge you for something that a computer does is not the best practice, however when our staff have to get involved like for support then we change like everyone else.
Q) How do I get started, and what is the procedure?
A) Firstly you need a Control Panel account. To get this go here. Once you have completed this, you will have a username and password so that you can access the Control Panel. (Keep the username and password.) Inside this control panel you can make sites. Each site you make can be accessed through the SoftPage Application.
Q) Where do I download the SoftPage Application

Q) How many sites can I have?
A) As many as you like.
Q) What is the space or bandwidth limitation on a site?
A) Well there is none, however remember that the support agreements are related to the size and complexity of your site. Bear this in mind that should you need support on a very large site, you will need to take out a support contract suited for your site. Speak to a sales consultant before you build a massive site.
Q) I have looked at your free templates - there is nothing that I like. Can you design something custom for me?
A) Yes, we offer a full set of development options over at your Web Design & Development Studio.
Q) Can I remove the banner advertising on the free templates?
A) Nope, that's why they are free. However you can pay to have a custom or no-ad template. These you can buy from the shop in the control panel.
Q) Can I access my SoftPage sites via FTP?
A) No sorry, we dont allow this however there are a number of ways to HTTP upload information securely to the server.
Q) Can I design my own template?
A) You are most welcome to - in fact we encourage as much owner development as possible.
Q) Is there any limitation to the way I want to design my site?
A) Actually no... but remember, the more complicated the template and design... the harder it is to update. Our provided templates are specifically designed to be easy to navigate and use as well as being easy to update.
Q) I am a designer or I have a design company, can I resell SoftPage and if so what are the advantages?
A) Yes you can. Design companies are most welcome. The conditions are simple, get 5 of your clients on SoftPage and you qualify to be upgraded to a reseller account. Reseller accounts get a percentage discount on any purchases or service contracts. The amount of discount is according to the number of sites you have. Most resellers start at about 10%.
